CEE Ambassadors

Rachel Stewart is a senior from Bowie, Maryland. Outside of classes, she enjoys playing intramural sports, baking, and painting.  Within civil engineering, Rachel is focused in land development and is particularly interested in stormwater management. Her goal is to work in civil consulting and earn her P.E. after she graduates.

Luis Salome is a Junior from Honduras and El Salvador located in central america.He is the secretary of the American Society of Civil Engineering. Luis loves sports like basketball and soccer and loves bulldogs Boston terriers and pugs. He wants to become a professional engineer and wants to focus construction management and in structures.

Jack Glock is a junior from Fallston, Maryland. Outside of engineering, he enjoys intramural sports, serving the Blacksburg community, growing in his faith, and being outdoors. Within civil engineering, he is interested in Geotechnical Engineering. He has a goal to earn his P.E. and to work at a design firm.

Paige Braude is a junior from Lumberton, New Jersey.  Outside of engineering she is very involved with Alpha Phi Omega, a co-ed service fraternity at Virginia Tech, and also is an avid sushi lover!  She hasn’t settled on a specific area within civil engineering yet but the areas of construction management and transportation are top contenders! She aspires to possibly work in developing countries to improve infrastructure in impoverished areas.

Reilly Albert is a junior from Mequon, Wisconsin and a proud cheesehead. Outside of classes she enjoys running, calligraphy and water sports, especially water skiing. In civil engineering, she is interested in land development and water resources. She aspires to work in civil consulting and earn her P.E. after she graduates.

Marta Perez is a junior from Denver, Colorado. She enjoys hiking, skiing, and traveling.  Outside of engineering, she is a part of Delta Gamma, and loves volunteering and participating in philanthropic events around campus! Marta spent this past summer interning for Webber, LLC in Houston, TX. In the future, she hopes to earn her master’s degree in Transportation Systems, become a professional engineer, and work for a consulting firm.

Gabby Oliveri is a junior from Richmond, Virginia.  Outside of school, she loves hiking, hanging with friends, being out on the water, and I am also an avid health and fitness lover! She is currently pledging Alpha Phi Omega, a co-ed service fraternity.  Although she has not picked a specialty to focus on within civil engineering, she is interested in water resources, land development, and geotechnical. She aspires to earn my P.E. and work for a large engineering firm.

Justin Wingenfield is a junior from Columbus, Ohio. Outside of engineering, he enjoys playing tennis, golf, and running. Within civil engineering, he is most interested in structures, transportation, and land development but hasn’t chosen a specific area yet. As a professional goal, he would like to combine his engineering skills and passion for sports into working on professional sports stadiums.

Sakshi Poudel is a senior from Springfield, Virginia. She enjoys music, reading, and painting. Sakshi is interested in the environment and water resources side of Civil Engineering. Her goal is to earn her P.E. and continue learning within the field.

Kevin Chan is a junior from Springfield, Virginia. Outside of his studies, he spends his time with the Filipino American Student Association (FASA), playing tennis, and cooking. This past summer he completed a virtual internship with Walter P. Moore and is interested in Structural Engineering and Construction Management. His goal is to eventually design and/or build sustainable buildings that will help the environment.

Stephanie Wolf is a sophomore for Ellicott City, Maryland. She enjoys listening to music, painting, and any outdoor activities. She is an upperclassmen leader and mentor in the Hypatia Living Learning Community and volunteers with other students at the local animal shelter in Blacksburg. In Civil Engineering, she has not settled on a specific area but wants to explore transportation and structures.

Bradley Gritz is a senior from North Potomac, Maryland. Outside of engineering, he likes to play soccer and wow his friends with culinary creations! In civil engineering, he wants to pursue a structural engineering degree and earn his PE. A career goal is to one day work for Disney or Universal designing/building roller coasters!

Lauren Snider is a junior from Fairfax, Virginia. She is a member of Delta Psi Nu, a local service and leadership fraternity at Virginia Tech. In her free time, she enjoys listening to music, spending time with family and friends, and watching sports. Lauren is interested in many different disciplines of civil engineering but will likely focus on transportation. She aspires to get her professional engineering license and work in design.

MJ a junior from Chesterfield, Virginia. When he’s not focused on school work, he enjoys playing lacrosse, hiking, and hanging out with friends. Within civil engineering he is focused on land development and would love to someday work within a private land development division focused on the design and construction of neighborhoods.

Analee Szuszman is a junior from Ann Arbor, Michigan. Outside of engineering, she enjoys skiing, hiking, and volunteering in the Blacksburg community. Within civil engineering, Analee plans to pursue her graduate degree in water resources and obtain her Professional Engineer License.

Salem Zewdu is a Junior originally from Ethiopia living in Woodbridge, VA. She enjoys readings, doing crossword puzzles, and curating playlists. Her interests lie in transportation and sustainability. She plans on attending a master’s program but has not decided which specific area she would like to focus on. Salem hopes to be part of the movement to expand public transportation in the United States, with sustainability and efficiency in mind.

Aisha Diallo is a Junior from Richmond, Virginia. She spent this summer interning for Branscome Paving and Construction. She would like to attend Law School after undergrad and pursue a career in environmental law. Outside of engineering, Aisha enjoys being active in her sorority Alpha Phi, watching football, and spending time with friends and family. In civil engineering, she is focused on environmental engineering and land development.

Lauren McKelvey is a junior from Richmond, Virginia. When she’s not doing school work, she loves listening to music, snowboarding, hiking, and fitness. Within civil engineering, she has not settled on a specific area but is leaning towards transportation. Her goal is to earn her professional engineer license and work in civil consulting.
