- Submit an Export Control Questionnaire (required for all visitors).
- Review the International Support Services–International Visitor Guidelines before issuing any invitation.
- Complete a Proposal to Host an International Delegation for visits involving the president/provost of another university or a visit involving more than one department or college at VT.
International Travel Forms, Requirements and Procedures
CEE Faculty members may contact Lindy Cranwell, lindycra@vt.edu, for help and planning of international travel and programs.
In CEE, faculty and staff should work with their respective program administration staff to process a travel approval (TA) 30 days prior to travel. If you are traveling on short-notice, please email Allie Oberoi vtglobalsafety@vt.edu in addition to processing the TA. Your program area administrator can help with the travel approval system.
Faculty-Led Group For Credit—Faculty/staff member leading a group of two or more students overseas on a trip for credit. Examples: study abroad, for-credit research, course required field-trip.
Faculty-Led Group Not For Credit—Faculty/staff member leading a group of two or more students overseas on a trip not for credit. Examples: Service-learning, competitions, conferences, research (not for credit).
NOTE that Individual Students Going Abroad–Student is traveling alone (or with only one faculty member) for internships, research, & conferences have their own paper procedure.
