To date, there have been over 37 million cases of COVID-19 and over 1 million deaths worldwide. Environmental engineering provides a framework for understanding and controlling transmission of the virus through the air.
Join Dr. Linsey Marr, an environmental engineer who studies airborne viruses, for a virtual TED talk that will explain how SARS-CoV-2 transmits through the air, highlight research at Virginia Tech on respirators and masks for healthcare workers and the general public, and demonstrate how wearing masks and avoiding the three Cās (close contact, crowds, and closed, poorly ventilated environments) helps slow transmission of the disease.
