To date, there have been over 37 million cases of COVID-19 and over 1 million deaths worldwide. Environmental engineering provides a framework for understanding and controlling transmission of the virus through the air.

Join Dr. Linsey Marr, an environmental engineer who studies airborne viruses, for a virtual TED talk that will explain how SARS-CoV-2 transmits through the air, highlight research at Virginia Tech on respirators and masks for healthcare workers and the general public, and demonstrate how wearing masks and avoiding the three Cā€™s (close contact, crowds, and closed, poorly ventilated environments) helps slow transmission of the disease.
