Roberto T. Leon honored with Lifetime Achievement Award

In March, Roberto T. Leon was honored at NASCC: The Steel Conference in San Antonio, Texas. He was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award by the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) for his significant and sustained contributions to the academic community, the structural engineering profession, and to AISC.

Leon is the David H. Burrows Professor and teaches courses including CEE Materials, Theory of Structures, and Reinforced Concrete Structures. His areas of research focus include behavior and design of steel and composite connections, seismic design of steel-braced frames and frames with partially restrained connections, seismic behavior of bridges, serviceability of composite floors, and high performance materials.
