The 2016 Virginia Student Conference was held on April 1-2 at the campus of The George Washington University in Washington, DC. The Virginia Tech ASCE teams brought home many awards:
- Transportation Team: 1st place
- Concrete Canoe Team: 2nd place
- Steel Bridge Team: 4th place
- Kristine Mapili: 3rd place Technical Paper and 3rd place Technical Presentation
- Dan Peets: VT Scholarship
- Jonathan Paquette: VT Thompson Award
