Arthur “Art” W. McKinney, distinguished alumnus of Virginia Tech’s College of Engineering and Academy of Engineering Excellence member, died Thursday, February 25, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
“We hold dear the Ut Prosim spirit of service, and no one embodied that more than Art McKinney,” said Richard C. Benson, dean of Virginia Tech’s College of Engineering. “It is almost impossible to describe the breadth of the man — brilliance, wit, drive, daring, and decency all come to mind.”
